Italia Trasporto Aereo, or ITA, is owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance and will be Italy's national flag carrier after replacing Alitalia as of 15 October 2021. Their primary hub airport based at Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO), the airline will also provide services from Milan Linate Airport(LIN) for their domestic network and some international routes.
As of 2021, ITA will provide services to 45 destinations on 61 routes, with its main focus on Italy and surrounding destinations in Europe, but with expansion to further international routes by 2025.
ITA offers seats in 4 travel classes:
Online check-in is available for travellers 48 hours prior to the scheduled flight time, but for travellers flying to/from the US, the online check-in will be available 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. Check-in and reprinting of the boarding pass will be available until 90 minutes before departure for international and 45 minutes for domestic flights.
Travellers can also check-in directly at the ITA counter at the airports, however, please be mindful of the check-in time limitation depending on your route. Also travellers flying to/from the US are advised to arrive at the airport early (3.5 hrs) for document verification. Further information on check-in policies are available directly on ITA's site.
