Calendar of Events
Mombasa celebrates with numerous events and festivals during the year. Most are religious, sporting, historical or artistic events where local music, food and dance are all part of the celebrations.
The Triathlon. Both athletes and spectators will love this triathlon held every September, which begins with a swim in the Indian Ocean, a cycle route out into the countryside and a run through the city streets.
The Carnival. Every November, the city's carnival puts on Kenyan dance and music events with bands, stalls, floats and food to reflect Kenyan culture. Experience the lively atmosphere feel what Mombasa is really about!
New Year's Day Celebrations. The city celebrates new year's day like no other city in Kenya and there are parties and fireworks that light up the skies until very late.
