Edinburgh is the second most populated city in Scotland, and became the capital in 1437. It has witnessed a several battles with its English neighbours over the centuries but nowadays tourists come from every part of the world to see the hilltop castle, atmospheric old town, churches, palaces and picturesque coastline. If all that wasn't enough to see in one place, there are art festivals which bring thousands of visitors to the city as well. Families can enjoy the zoo and the museums, and for landscapes and views go to the coastline or climb the hill called Arthur's Seat.
